Photos: Mysterious healing river appears in Enugu state

Biko have you people heard of the River with healing powers that mysteriously appeared in a community in Enugu State? Well, now you have heard, so grab a can and head down there or go for a swim while offer lasts...:-). OK, let's get serious! A River with 'healing powers' (according to the people of the community) mysteriously appeared in a community in Enugu State called Nachi, in Udi LGA. The river, now called Orimiri Jordan (River Jordan) was first seen on Nov. 11th. Continue..

According to reports, a Fulani Herdsmen first spotted the river and ran to people in the community to alert them of the discovery. He told them that as he passed the area with his herd of cattle, he heard a strange noise, and when he turned back, he saw the river that wasn't there previously.

The community went to look for themselves and discovered that the water has healing powers. But the traditional ruler of Nachi community said something slightly different. He said the river appears every 20 to 30 years but dries up after a few weeks so it wasn't anything new.

An elder in the community explained:
“We noticed that after some years, the water will form a stream there and would disappear in few weeks. If such happens, we will be fetching water there. However, women who are menstruating and evil people don’t go there. We never heard about healing power of the River until this recent appearance of the River.
“The last time it appeared was in 1992, and at that time, it just formed a small stream, which later disappeared. It has never been as large as this. This is all I know, we have never known about its healing power, this is the first time we are hearing about healing, I don’t whether it is true”.

Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Dorothy Gimba
Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Mrs. Dorothy Gimba, on Tuesday interrogated the Vice Principal of Baptist High School, Ejigbo, and a female student of the school over Monday’s attack by some Muslim youths.
Some youths had attacked the school on Monday and injured the Principal, Mr. Layi Oguntola, based on the allegation that the principal turned back some Muslim female students of the school for wearing hijab on their uniforms.
A police source told journalists that the CP invited the female student and the VP of the school to the state police headquarters, Osogbo, on Tuesday afternoon.
The source said that the CP interrogated the two and were allowed to go after the session.
The source said, “The female student who was said to have been sent away from the school for wearing hijab was invited. The Vice Principal of the school also came and some religious leaders came with their lawyer.
“The girl and the vice principal were asked some questions and after that they were allowed to go.”
The source added that one person had also been arrested in connection with the attack.
Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has appealed to the people of the state not to read any religious meaning to the school reclassification embarked upon by his administration.
Osun State  Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, who spoke in an interview with our correspondent on the development, said that the governor was not happy with the incident.
He said, “All parties affected in this matter should be tolerant. That is the bottom line. We are one in the state and we should not allow anything to divide us.
“The governor means well with the reclassification. It was aimed at reforming the education sector, which was in rot before he assumed office. There was no religious undertone to it as some are claiming.”

Pre-wedding photos of Amb. Martins Efe and Augusta Duru

Beautiful Augusta Emmanuel Duru is set to marry the love of her life, ambassador Martins O. Efe. Augusta tells how they met and how he proposed.
How we met: We met in April 2009, I left school (igbinedion university) with my friends to go for a swim at choice gate hotel and there he was with a group of friends chilling. Immediately he sees me, he starts saying that he has seen his wife and how he is in love with my eyes. I paid no heed to him as I felt it was the usual words of a guy trying to woo a lady. We got talking and that birthed our relationship and the rest as they say is history.
Continue to read how he proposed and see more pre-wedding photos...

Proposal Story: Martins was to travel to SA for a project, I traveled with him to Abuja to bid him farewell, the night prior to his trip we were in the room chilling. He opens a website and asks me to make my choice, I look at it and it was wedding bands and engagement rings. I laugh at him thinking it's his usual jokes but still went ahead to make a choice, I look up and there he was on one kneel asking me to marry him. I screamed so loud that the porters had to knock on my hotel door, I said yes I wld marry u, my ring was ordered and paid for immediately. 2 weeks later my ring was delivered to my doorstep.
